How Alice Salomon University Is Revolutionizing Learning With VR AI Training
Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin (ASH) is setting the bar high for innovative teaching in social work, health, and education. The secret? mpthy, the first module in our groundbreaking VR AI communication tool CommuniKit. Since teaming up in June 2024, ASH and vr4content have been reshaping the way students learn, thanks to the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Julia Rehn.
Why mpthy Stands Out:
Imagine students practicing real-life social counseling cases in a dynamic, safe, and gamified virtual environment. That’s exactly what mpthy delivers. It empowers students to hone essential communication skills while boosting their confidence for the real world.
What ASH Expected:
– Realistic, hands-on scenarios for social counseling.
– An interactive, engaging platform that motivates students.
– Closer alignment between lessons and real-world social work challenges.
At Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin, some students recently had the opportunity to evaluate the Mpthy virtual reality training experience as part of an internal survey. Surprisingly, 11 of them had no prior experience with virtual reality, making this an exciting first-time adventure for many!
The results? Overwhelmingly positive!
🌟 The feeling of interacting with the AI was amazing!: This stood out as a highlight, scoring an impressive 9/10.
🚀 The VR experience was inspiring: also left a mark, with a strong average rating of 8.5/10.
🎮 Students enjoyed being immersed in the virtual environment and felt safe when interacting with the scenes, scoring 6.7/10 and 7.3/10, respectively.
While there’s room for improvement in providing clearer guidance and action control (scoring 6/10 and 5.5/10, respectively), the students still found the overall experience engaging and easy to navigate. Lastly, we were glad to see that VR fatigue was barely an issue, scoring a low 1.8/10. We designed the scenarios with this factor in mind.
This survey underlines the potential of immersive training solutions for enhancing communication skills, even for those new to VR. A huge thank you to the ASH students for their participation and feedback!
Our evaluation details not covered by this survey:
✅ Ease of use: both students and lecturers mastered the platform in no time.
✅ Tailored to their needs: Custom scenarios brought classroom learning closer to real-world challenges.
✅ Engaging & motivating: Students thrive in dynamic, lifelike VR environments.
✅ Inclusive learning : Built-in multilingual support (English, German, Spanish) ensures accessibility for all.
A Digital Transformation Success Story
mpthy doesn’t just check boxes—it transforms learning. The collaboration has even drawn media attention, with Jutta Müller from ZDF’s MOMA Future exploring this innovative partnership, have a look to the video.
Prof. Julia Rehn and her students aren’t just learning—they’re leading the way. ASH is a glowing example of how digital tools like mpthy can revolutionize education and set the stage for a future-ready workforce.
We’re grateful to Prof. Julia Rehn and ASH for trusting us with this exciting collaboration—and we can’t wait to take the next steps together!
